Even in the scorching deserts of Dune: Awakening, money talks. Solaris, the main currency in the game, is your ticket to buying weapons, crafting materials, and other survival must-haves. Whether you’re trying to offload some extra loot or hunt down that one rare schematic, knowing how to trade is key.
Like other MMOs, Dune: Awakening features a player-driven economy — meaning prices and demand can shift based on what everyone else is doing. So if you’re looking to turn a profit, you’ll need to be a bit strategic.

How to Buy and Sell Items at Trading Posts
The easiest way to start trading is to hit up your local trading post. There’s usually one in each major region — even the tutorial zone has one — and each post has a merchant who’s happy to do business. Just walk up, open the trade window, and you’re good to go.
Each merchant is a little different, and their stock or pricing might vary. But they’ll usually trade with you right away without needing any special rep or unlocks.
Just a heads-up: this isn’t a basic “sell junk for cash” setup. The game simulates supply and demand. That means if everyone is crafting the same item, the market gets saturated — and prices drop. If you’re trying to make serious Solaris, pay attention to what’s actually in demand before flooding the market.
Trading posts are easy to find on the map, and each one has a Contract Board. These boards often have jobs that lead you to nearby trading posts in other regions — great for exploring and expanding your trade routes.

How to Trade With Other Players
Want to trade with real players? Head to The Exchange, a player-run market located in the game’s two social hubs: Arrakeen and Harko Village.
To get there, talk to a Taxi NPC at any trading post (look for the one standing near an Ornithopter hologram). A trip to a social hub costs 2,500 Solaris, but don’t worry — the return trip to Hagga Basin is free.
If you’ve crafted your own Ornithopter, you can also fly to the hubs on your own, no Taxi required.
Once inside a social hub, go to the CHOAM Exchange store. Look for the sales terminal, interact with it, and boom — the player market is open. You can:
- Set your own prices and sell items directly to other players
- Buy gear, blueprints, crafting materials, and more
And that’s not all. Social hubs also feature specialty NPC vendors selling rare goodies like Unique schematics, vehicle parts, and exotic resources like Plasteel Microflora Fiber. These shops usually stock high-end or limited items that desert merchants don’t carry — so it’s worth checking them out.
Whether you’re flipping gear for Solaris, searching for rare blueprints, or just offloading loot, Dune: Awakening gives you plenty of ways to dive into its dynamic economy. Just be smart about what you’re trading — and who you’re trading with.
