Once Human just dropped a major update, and it’s a big one—players can now create Custom Servers with their own unique game rules.
Alongside that, the devs also revealed the Global Annual Version 2.0 Showcase, promising fresh content and features that’ll shape the game’s future.
The game originally launched in July 2024 and quickly gained steam—literally. It peaked at over 230,000 concurrent players on Steam, and for good reason.
With a mix of eerie horror vibes, solid gameplay, and an intuitive base-building system, Once Human carved out a spot in the crowded survival genre.
Regular updates have kept the hype going strong. Case in point: April’s update added dog companions—a fan-favorite addition that made adventuring a little less lonely.

Now, Custom Servers are live, letting players tweak the game however they want. Want a chill building session? Done.
Prefer brutal survival mode with cranked-up difficulty? You got it. Server owners can change pretty much everything—weather, day-night cycles, character stats, XP rates, resource respawns, and more.
You can stick with existing PvE or PvP setups or build something completely your own. Looking ahead, the devs are also planning mod support and exclusive custom scenarios, which should open up even more creative possibilities.
These new servers are totally separate from the main ones, running on secure, dedicated systems to keep things stable.
Every server includes a Dedicated Server Management Panel, giving owners full control, GM powers, and player permissions.
You can invite friends with special codes, or go public and let anyone join in. Server subscriptions are available via the in-game store, with pricing based on server size and how long you want it to run.
But that’s not all. The Global Annual Version 2.0 Showcase is coming on July 2, 2025, and it’s set to reveal the next phase of Once Human.
Expect a fresh roadmap, a sneak peek at a brand-new Scenario, and more on the upcoming PvP spin-off, Once Human: Raidzone, which is already open for pre-registration ahead of its July launch.
