Developer Sunblink just dropped a brand new update for Hello Kitty Island Adventure on iOS called the City Classics update, and it brings a bunch of fresh content for players to jump into. The game originally launched as an Apple Arcade exclusive, but eventually made its way to PC and Nintendo Switch, bringing Sanrio’s lovable crew to even more players.

“Slow life” games like this have been around forever, but it was Animal Crossing: New Horizons that really pushed the genre into the mainstream spotlight.

The combo of cozy vibes and steady content updates made it a hit—and it also inspired games like Hello Kitty Island Adventure to take the formula and run with it.

What makes Island Adventure stand out, though, is how it leans more into storylines and offers cool twists like underwater adventures and regular new updates.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure's New City Classics Update Hits iOS, While Switch and PC Get Sunshine Celebration

Now, with the launch of version 2.7, iOS players are getting even more to explore. The City Classics update brings players back to City Town, the urban-themed island that first showed up in version 2.0 last year.

This time around, you can open a tourist shop, unlock a bunch of Kuromi-themed furniture, form a band with Retsuko, and even take selfies with Tsunoda. Not bad, right?

The update is live now on iOS through Apple Arcade, but if you’re on Switch or PC, hang tight—it’s expected to roll out to those platforms soon.

What About Switch and PC Players?

Even though the City Classics update isn’t live on Switch and PC just yet, Sunblink didn’t forget about you. Starting July 10, the Sunshine Celebration event is going live on both platforms.

It’s a summer-themed event that adds tropical outfits, beachy furniture, and chill seaside activities with your Sanrio friends. Basically, it’s all about soaking up the sun and relaxing.

Why Hello Kitty Island Adventure Is Still Going Strong

At launch, some people brushed Island Adventure off as just another Animal Crossing copycat, but it’s been steadily proving itself. Regular updates like the Under the Sea Celebration and snow-covered mountain zones have shown that the game is carving out its own space in the cozy game genre. And with a steady stream of content that adds new mechanics, areas, and character-driven stories, it’s clear this isn’t just a one-and-done experience.

So whether you’re decorating your shop in City Town or hanging out on the beach during the Sunshine Celebration, Hello Kitty Island Adventure is keeping things fresh—and players are definitely noticing.
