A new leak has surfaced that’s got Battlefield fans buzzing. A fresh line of code has been found in a recent client update, and it includes the phrase “Battlefield 6 Open Beta.” While it’s just a tiny snippet, it’s the first real sign from the developers themselves that an open beta might be in the works.
Given EA’s ongoing plans to drop a major reveal for the next Battlefield title during summer 2025, it’s starting to look like a beta could be coming sooner rather than later.
This is just the latest in a string of leaks that have plagued the development cycle. Despite developers’ efforts to lock things down, game testers have consistently spilled details about the upcoming game.

One of the bigger leaks confirmed a battle royale mode—a major addition that signals just how big EA and DICE are going this time around.
Unlike Battlefield 2042, which hit around 22 million players, EA is shooting for the stars with a target of 100 million players.
And adding battle royale into the mix is clearly part of that strategy. According to a report from MP1st, the recently uncovered code doesn’t just hint at a beta—it’s the first mention of any official name or testing plans related to the next game.
That said, this doesn’t confirm the actual title (which probably isn’t “Battlefield 6”) or exactly when the beta might drop. But if history repeats itself—like with 2042—we can probably count on an open beta before launch.

Even though “Battlefield 6” is what everyone’s calling it for now, EA hasn’t locked down an official name. That’ll likely come during the big summer reveal.
It’s pretty common for games in development to use placeholder names anyway, so don’t get too attached. Still, these leaks are giving us some real insight into what direction the franchise is headed.
Besides the battle royale buzz, another leak suggests there’ll be a full campaign mode—something that sets it apart from 2042. EA’s reportedly gone over budget on this project, which tells us they’re swinging big.
With all this momentum, it seems fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the beta and see what this next-gen Battlefield experience is all about.
