The First Berserker: Khazan June update is about to shake things up in a big way, whether you’re just diving in or already a battle-hardened vet.

Developed by Neople, this solo action game set in the gritty world of Arad follows Khazan on a revenge-fueled rampage—and it’s about to get a whole lot more interesting.

While players are still digging into the content from the May update, Neople has unveiled what’s next, and the headline is a total overhaul of the game’s difficulty system.

Here’s the rundown: what used to be called “Easy” will now be known as “Normal,” making it the new default. The old “Normal” mode is being bumped up to “Challenge” to better reflect the tougher combat experience it offers.

But that’s not all—two brand-new difficulty modes are joining the party. For folks looking for a gentler entry into the chaos, there’s “Beginner,” which offers a more relaxed intro with the option to crank up the difficulty whenever you’re ready.

On the other end of the spectrum, “Hardcore” is being added for those who’ve already cleared the game on Challenge and are looking for something seriously punishing.

In Hardcore mode, enemy health and stamina bars vanish, key support tools are removed, and even the camera gets tweaked to ratchet up the tension. It’s meant to be brutal—and it sounds like it will be.

To help players up their game, a new Combo tab is being added to the in-game Encyclopedia. It’ll include basic combo guides for each skill tree level so you can learn and practice more advanced techniques right inside the game.

The update isn’t just about turning up the heat, though. It also packs in a bunch of quality-of-life improvements.

There’s a new Skill Preset system, Gear Presets, the ability to sort inventory by name, and a big upgrade to storage capacity—going from 100 to 500 slots.

Plus, drop rates are getting a nice bump. Main mission bosses will now always drop set crafting materials, and the Augment of Wisdom will drop more frequently.

One last thing: the online demo is getting pulled for a bit. The devs say the game has evolved so much since launch that the demo no longer represents the full experience. Totally fair.

So whether you’re just starting out or looking for a fresh challenge, the June update has something for everyone.
