Fortnite fans just got some great news—Blitz Royale has officially been extended until August 12, meaning there are several more weeks of fast-paced mayhem and exclusive loot on the way.
Originally planned to run from June 18 to July 15, the extension gives players nearly a full extra month to enjoy the intense, roguelike-style mode.
For anyone just jumping in, Blitz Royale is one of Fortnite’s newest limited-time game modes. It throws 32 players onto a small map for a quick 5-minute match, complete with storm circles and elimination objectives—very similar to Battle Royale, but way more compact and chaotic. Each player starts with a random medallion and weapon from previous seasons, which keeps matches fresh and unpredictable.
Each week of Blitz Royale has introduced new loot, including mythic items tied to major collabs like Avatar: The Last Airbender and TMNT: Melee Mayhem.
Now, according to reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX on Twitter, the extra weeks will bring in even more crossover content.
The rumored upcoming loot themes include Dragon Ball, Mortal Kombat, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
While we don’t yet know which mythics are on the way, the idea of more themed gear is definitely exciting.
Blitz Royale’s Player Count Is Breaking Records
Blitz Royale’s popularity has been off the charts. At one point, the mode hit a peak concurrent player count of 443,379, making it the most-played mode in Fortnite during that time.
It’s no surprise Epic decided to keep it going—when a mode’s this popular, giving fans more time with it just makes sense.
Part of what makes Blitz Royale so fun is its difficulty and intensity. The short match format pushes players to be more aggressive, ditching slower, more cautious strategies in favor of quick reflexes and decisive moves.
That shift in pace adds a fresh twist to the usual Fortnite gameplay, and the weekly loot rotations give players a constant reason to drop in again and again.
With Blitz Royale now running through August 12, there’s still plenty of time to fine-tune your strategy, collect exclusive loot, and dominate the leaderboard.
Whether you’re in it for the challenge or just chasing mythic gear, this extended run is definitely something to celebrate.
