Diablo 4 shared a fresh infographic revealing what’s coming in Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, and it’s packed with new content.
Launching on July 1, this is the third piece of the 2025 roadmap Blizzard teased back in early April—giving fans a solid preview of what Year 2 has in store.
Season 8 kicked off back on April 29 and brought with it a bunch of exciting features, like the Berserk crossover that added content inspired by Kentaro Miura’s legendary manga.
One of the biggest highlights? The return of Belial as a new boss, tying into the season’s theme centered around the Lord of Lies. That season also introduced boss powers, allowing players to enhance their builds even more.
Now, with Season 9 on the horizon, Diablo 4 is shifting gears. The new season is titled Sins of the Horadrim, and Blizzard has confirmed a ton of additions.
Players will dive into a brand-new questline involving relics corrupted by Astaroth’s blood. That’s right—Astaroth is back as the seasonal questline boss.
The season’s core mechanic is Horadric Spellcraft, bringing a new layer of power through spell types like Corrosive Vapor, Glacial Nimbus, Smoldering Ember, and Thunderous Particle.
Alongside this, we’re getting Horadric Jewels, new socketable items that grant additional bonuses. And yes, a fan-favorite leak has been confirmed: Dante the hellhound will be the new seasonal pet. A demonic goat will also appear as one of the Reliquary rewards.
Here’s a quick breakdown of what to expect:
Seasonal Content:
- New questline involving relics tainted by Astaroth
- Astaroth as the main boss for the quest
- Horadric Spellcraft (new seasonal mechanic)
- Horadric Jewels (new socketables)
- Dante (new seasonal pet)
- New Reliquary rewards
- New Battle Pass

Permanent Updates:
- Nightmare Dungeon changes (affixes, Horadric Strongrooms, Escalating Nightmares)
- Exalted Astaroth (endgame boss for Escalating Nightmares)
- Six new Uniques
- Keyboard and mouse support on consoles
One of the biggest updates is the overhaul of Nightmare Dungeons. Players will now encounter new affixes, explore Horadric Strongrooms, and face Escalating Nightmares—a new endgame mode that links together three Nightmare Dungeons in a single run.
Exalted Astaroth will be the main boss of this endgame challenge, and thanks to affixes, his fight can get even nastier.
For loot chasers, there are six brand-new Uniques being added to the mix. And for console players who prefer a classic PC feel, keyboard and mouse support is finally becoming available.
While Season 9 doesn’t have a confirmed end date just yet, Blizzard’s roadmap lists it as running from July through September.
After that, players can expect Season 10, Infernal Chaos, which is planned from September to December.
That season will introduce a new seasonal mechanic called Chaos Powers, an update to Infernal Hordes mode, and a mysterious crossover that’s still under wraps.
