Jump Pack Devastators and Hulks Hit Helldivers 2 in Major Order Update

Helldivers 2 players just got hit with another curveball—this time from the skies. A new Major Order, dropped on June 26, warns players of an upgraded threat: Devastators and Hulks now outfitted with Jump Packs, making them way more mobile—and dangerous—than ever before.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, Helldivers 2 has been going strong since its launch in February 2024, building a loyal community of players devoted to freeing planets from waves of deadly enemies. Arrowhead has kept the game fresh with regular updates, and this latest twist proves they’re not letting up anytime soon.

The timing’s brutal: just two days earlier, on June 24, Arrowhead pushed out a patch fixing weapon bugs, UI glitches, and visual issues. That same patch nerfed Leviathans a bit to give players some breathing room—but that calm didn’t last long.

The new Major Order was announced on the Helldivers 2 Twitter account, featuring in-universe footage of a squad of Devastators and a Hulk Automaton literally launching through the air, thanks to rear-mounted thrusters. These airborne bots belong to the newly revealed Jet Brigade, an elite Automaton force that’s reverse-engineered Jump Packs stolen from fallen Helldivers.

Hulks can jump! I repeat, HULK CAN JUMP NOW!

Needless to say, the player base is freaking out. Some fans missed the initial drop and were caught totally off guard, taking to social media to share their disbelief at seeing these massive machines leap like superheroes.

And honestly, it’s been non-stop. Just back in March, Helldivers 2 introduced the Incineration Corps, bringing flamethrowers and incendiary upgrades to both Devastators and Hulks. Now, they’re jumping. What’s next?

Probably more chaos. A well-known leaker claims a new enemy from the mysterious Illuminate faction might be coming soon. This rumored foe supposedly acts as the cultist version of the Watcher, firing lasers instead of bullets—though nothing’s confirmed yet.

In the meantime, players are going to have to come up with a plan to take down these flying death machines before another planet falls. If history tells us anything, the next wave of threats isn’t far behind.

Better reload, Helldivers.
