Honkai: Star Rail just confirmed that its much-hyped Version 3.4 update, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” is officially dropping on July 2—and there’s a ton to get excited about. From the debut of new characters like Phainon to the epic Fate/Stay Night collaboration, this patch is loaded with content.
Let’s kick things off with what everyone’s been talking about: Phainon, a brand-new 5-Star Physical Destruction unit, is finally making her way into the game. After the dramatic events with the Chrysos Heirs in 3.3, Phainon’s role in delivering the final Coreflame has fans itching to see what’s next.
And remember that cliffhanger with Cyrene and the fate of Amphoreus? Yeah, the new Trailblaze Mission is picking that story right back up.

🗡️ Fate/Stay Night Collab: Saber and Archer Join the Fight
Starting July 11, Honkai: Star Rail is crossing over with Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works—and it’s bringing Saber and Archer with it!
- Saber: 5-Star, Wind, Destruction
- Archer: 5-Star, Quantum, Hunt (Free!)
Yes, you read that right—you can get Archer for free just by logging in from July 11 to the end of Version 3.6. The banners will be separate from the regular ones and need Special Passes.
There’s also a whole new combat game mode and a special Holy Grail War event story set in Penacony. Expect to see the Fate crew teaming up with Trailblazer, Boothill, Aventurine, Robin, and more.
Bonus: Spend 200 Special Passes between July 2 and August 13, and you’ll unlock Archer’s signature Light Cone—no gacha needed.
🎮 New Features & Gameplay Updates
- “Skip dialogue” is finally here—no more mashing through cutscenes if you’re in a rush.
- A new long-term co-op game mode featuring Origami Birds is being introduced.
- Firefly is getting a new skin called “Spring Missive”, styled like a school uniform.
- Several characters are getting buffs:
- Kafka, Silver Wolf, Jingliu, and Blade will have updated kits and stronger Eidolons.
- Players can choose to stick with their current kits or opt into the new buffs.

And just in case you were wondering: Kafka and Silver Wolf will be featured again in Version 3.5, alongside new characters Hysilens and Cerydra, who are also tied to the Chrysos Heirs storyline.
