Last Epoch is gearing up for its next big seasonal refresh, and it’s coming sooner than expected. Developer Eleventh Hour Games has confirmed that Season 3, titled Beneath Ancient Skies, will launch on August 21, 2025—just over four months after the successful Season 2 rollout.
A Roaring New Theme
Judging by the teaser trailer released with the announcement, Beneath Ancient Skies is leaning hard into a dinosaur-themed vibe.
The animated teaser features a mysterious, goat-like hunter wielding a bow who stumbles upon a giant creature lurking in the foliage—setting the tone for what looks like a Jurassic Park-inspired adventure.
Fans on Reddit quickly picked up on the prehistoric theme and expressed excitement about the game’s creative direction.
A Quick Turnaround for More ARPG Action
Last Epoch’s rise in popularity has been impressive. The game officially launched out of beta in February 2024, and within weeks, it skyrocketed to over 264,000 concurrent players on Steam.
Since then, Eleventh Hour Games has followed up with Update 1.1 and Season 2: Tombs of the Erased, which saw another surge in activity thanks to endgame improvements, crafting system tweaks, and fresh content.
While player numbers have dipped back below 15,000 concurrent users recently, the studio hopes Season 3 can reignite interest and bring another wave of players back into the fold.
