Could the Daywalker finally be ready to join the fight in Marvel Rivals? A cryptic tweet and some sneaky in-game changes have fans buzzing that Blade might be gearing up for a big debut in Season 3.
Marvel Rivals has been steadily growing its hero roster since launch, with the latest addition being Ultron, who crashed the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa Island during the tail end of Season 2. Now, all signs seem to point toward Blade being next up.
🧛♂️ Blade’s Been Teased Since Season 1
Blade’s presence in Marvel Rivals has been teased for a while now. In Season 1, players spotted him imprisoned by Dracula in the Central Park map. Then in Season 2, he was seen snoozing near one of the spawn points on the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map.
But with the June 19 update, that changed—Blade is now gone, leaving behind only an empty sleeping bag. Naturally, this disappearance has fans speculating that the Daywalker is finally ready to wake up and join the roster.
🤔 Devs Are Fueling the Speculation
It gets even juicier. Marvel Rivals executive producer Danny Koo quote-tweeted a post from the game’s official Twitter account, which showed Jeff the Land Shark looking confused at Blade’s empty sleeping bag with the caption, “Where did the Daywalker go?”
Koo’s reply? Just three thinking emojis 🤔🤔🤔. Simple, but enough to send fans into full detective mode.
⚔️ Blade’s Possible Role in Marvel Rivals
If the speculation pans out, Blade would likely arrive when Season 3 kicks off on July 10. We don’t have official details on his playstyle just yet, but leaks suggest Blade will be a Duelist—a close-to-mid range fighter using his classic sword and handguns to take out enemies, much like his appearances in past games.
Blade’s last big gaming appearance was in Marvel’s Midnight Suns back in 2022, and of course, he’s also set to star in Marvel’s Blade, the upcoming action game from Arkane Studios (Redfall, Dishonored). And while his solo MCU movie has hit delay after delay, his recent cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine—with Wesley Snipes reprising the role—has definitely reignited interest in the character.
Whether it’s a well-planned rollout or just a fun tease, it’s looking more and more like Blade could finally be making his official entrance in Marvel Rivals very soon. If so, monsters—and maybe other heroes—better watch their backs.
