Alright Dreamlight Valley fans, it’s time to get excited — Gameloft just dropped the full patch notes for the game’s next big update, and there’s a lot to dig into. Dropping on June 9, this update brings the highly anticipated second part of the Storybook Vale expansion, now titled “The Unwritten Realm.”

Explore The Unwritten Realm (Expansion Pass Content)
If you own the Storybook Vale expansion pass, you’re in for a treat. This next chapter lets you descend into The Unwritten Realm, a swirling void where forgotten stories go and untold ones begin. Sounds spooky? That’s because it kind of is — but in the best magical Disney way possible.
In this story-rich update, you’ll get to:
- Meet and befriend Maleficent (finally!)
- Discover Aurora, complete with a gorgeous new Dream Style
- Help both princess and villain settle into the Vale, unlocking outfits and items themed after their light and dark vibes
- Wield the new Royal Net, used to catch slippery little creatures called Snippets — living fragments of lore!
- Use Snippets to complete Lorekeeper Tales, which dive into classic Disney and Pixar stories
- Team up with new characters and foil whatever evil plans Maleficent and Hades are cooking up
Also, keep an eye out for premium bundles in the Moonstone Shop inspired by both Maleficent and Aurora — these will be available for all players.

A Quick Recap for New or Returning Players:
Disney Dreamlight Valley has come a long way since its early access days back in 2022. The 1.0 launch in December 2023 was just the beginning, and since then, the game’s had 17 major updates, regular bug fixes, and tons of added content.
The recent Mysteries of Skull Rock update (June 18) introduced Peter Pan, The Forgotten, the new Max companion, and the Never Land Star Path — so it’s been a busy summer already!
Gameloft also confirmed the game is compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, with potential upgrades coming to the enhanced version in the near future.
So whether you’re diving into the swirling story void with Maleficent or just vibing in your valley with some bug-free building, June 9 is looking like a great time to jump back into Dreamlight Valley.
