Funcom just dropped the latest update—Patch 1.1.10.0—for its survival MMO Dune: Awakening, and it’s a hefty one.

Since its early June release, Dune: Awakening has pulled fans into an alternate version of Frank Herbert’s legendary sci-fi world—one where Paul Atreides never existed.

Instead, players get to carve out their own story with fully customizable characters, spice harvesting, and a bit of political maneuvering. But, like any sprawling game at launch, it hasn’t been without its bumps.

While early reviews were pretty solid, players quickly ran into griefing issues—especially in the Deep Desert. One big annoyance? Players using ornithopters to trap spice harvesters, which really puts a damper on the experience.

Although that particular issue hasn’t been squashed yet, Funcom’s new update focuses on a bunch of other much-needed improvements.

Patch 1.1.10.0 was announced via social media and the official dev blog, and it’s now live. Among the standout changes is a fix for a resource duplication glitch that let players pump out infinite materials (yep, that one’s gone).

On top of that, the power of Harkonnen and Atreides attacks on player bases has been scaled back, and sandworms are now more likely to pop up in freshly harvested spice zones—so watch your step.

As a bonus, new unique weapon schematics are now up for grabs in Asmara Efendi’s shop.

Right after the patch hit, some players ran into server issues, but the devs were quick to respond and fix it.

There was also chatter about disappearing inventory when fast-traveling to areas like the Deep Desert or Hagga Basin. Again, Funcom jumped in and confirmed a fix had already been rolled out.

Another hot topic has been the game’s endgame content. Right now, most of the premium loot is locked behind PvP zones in the Deep Desert, which has stirred some debate. Not everyone’s a fan of having to risk a fight just to score the good stuff.

Fortunately, the devs have hinted at a future endgame update aimed at balancing PvE and PvP better, giving players more options and a smoother ride through the sands of Arrakis.

So while there are still some challenges to work through, Patch 1.1.10.0 is definitely a step in the right direction.
