Some major Nintendo Switch piracy websites have officially gone dark, with the FBI stepping in to shut them down. One of the most well-known sites, Nsw2u, is no longer accessible, marking a serious blow to the piracy scene.

Like most gaming platforms, Nintendo has dealt with piracy for years, but with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company seems to be doubling down on enforcement. Just last month, multiple users reported their original Switch units were permanently banned for running pirated games—and now, entire piracy networks are being dismantled.

Nsw2u and Game-2u Taken Down by FBI

At the time of writing, Nsw2u’s domain still appears on Google, but anyone trying to visit the site is greeted by a bold takedown notice. The homepage now reads:

This website has been seized in accordance with a seizure warrant issued pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 2323 by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, as part of a law enforcement operation and action by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

Another well-known site, game-2u—reportedly operated by the same person as Nsw2u—has also been taken offline, showing the exact same seizure message.

A Tougher Stance From Nintendo

This latest takedown is part of a broader effort by Nintendo to clamp down on piracy and unauthorized use of its systems. With the Switch 2 on the market, Nintendo is not just going after websites—it’s also enforcing bans at the console level, restricting access to the eShop and online services for players caught using pirated games or unauthorized hardware.

On Reddit, reactions from users were a mix of surprise and disappointment. One user wrote:

“R.I.P. ‘NSW2U’ smh.”

It’s a clear sign that Nintendo and U.S. law enforcement are stepping up their efforts to protect games and intellectual property as the Switch 2 era unfolds. Whether more sites will meet the same fate remains to be seen, but for now, it looks like the days of easily grabbing “free” Switch ROMs from sites like Nsw2u are officially over.
