HoYoverse finally pulled the curtain back on all four Shades of the Heavenly Principles in their latest interlude trailer, and if you weren’t hyped for the future of Genshin Impact already… well, buckle up.
So here’s the lowdown. While the Traveler’s been busy hopping nations and stirring up trouble (in the good way), we’ve always known the story was heading toward something bigger — Celestia, the Heavenly Principles, and that whole divine showdown. And now? We’re staring right at it.

In this latest cinematic drop — which went live on July 9, 2025 — HoYoverse unveiled the full lineup: Ronova, Naberius, Istaroth, and Asmoday. Yep, all four Shades are finally out in the open. And they’re not just standing around looking cool — the trailer gives us a ton to chew on. For starters, Asmoday’s officially the Ruler of Space, and there’s some wild lore surrounding Naberius and Rhinedottir that hints at deeper connections and conflicts.

Oh, and that wasn’t even the half of it. The trailer also gave us a juicy glimpse of the next big region: Nod-Krai. It’s got a seriously diverse landscape, and you just know there’s gonna be secrets buried under every rock and tree. But what’s got the community buzzing even more is what’s happening with the Fatui.
So here’s where it gets spicy: something called the Palestar Edict is now in play — and it’s got Columbina at the center of it. Word is, she’s gone rogue, and the Fatui’s been yanked back to Snezhnaya before being launched into Nod-Krai to deal with it. The trailer’s being a little cagey about whether the order came from Pierro or the Tsaritsa, but either way, it looks like Columbina’s not exactly following orders anymore. And yep, she might even be joining the playable cast. Let’s go.

We also got a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it nod to Pierro himself, plus more hints that Nod-Krai is gonna be where all the big factions clash: Hexenzirkel, Knights of Favonius, the Fatui Harbingers, and now… the Shades. And if the devs are to be believed, Nod-Krai’s arc is going to last a full year under the “Song of the Welkin Moon” storyline. That’s a long game — and we’re here for it.
Oh — and one more thing. That old fan theory about Paimon being Asmoday? Yeah… it’s still not confirmed, but the trailer’s definitely winking at it. Asmoday’s shown changing sides and saying she loves her new master more than herself. You don’t drop that kind of line and not have fans speculating.
So yeah, the gates to Nod-Krai officially swing open on September 10, 2025. Whether you’re Team Celestia, Fatui fanboy, or still simping for your twin, there’s a storm coming — and it’s going to hit hard.
Catch you in Nod-Krai.
