Grand Theft Auto 6 fans might want to circle August 7 on their calendars. That’s when Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, will hold its next quarterly earnings call.

While we’re not expecting massive news to drop, these calls have historically been a solid source of minor GTA 6 development updates—especially when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is hosting.

And yep, he’ll be the one leading this upcoming call too.

Could We Get a GTA 6 Update?

It’s been a little over two months since Rockstar dropped Trailer 2 for GTA 6—blowing up the internet and sparking wave after wave of fan theories, trailer breakdowns, and even fan recreations in other games.

Alongside that trailer, Rockstar launched an updated website and released over 70 new screenshots, which fans have been analyzing to death ever since.

But with no fresh updates since then, the community is itching for anything—even a tiny crumb of new info.

That’s why this August 7 call has some eyes on it. While these earnings calls are typically geared toward investors and cover company-wide updates, Zelnick has been known to squeeze in comments about GTA 6 during them.

It was actually during one of these calls that we first heard the game’s release window would be Fall 2025—before Rockstar later delayed it.

A Look at What the Earnings Call Covers

These calls usually run for about an hour and include updates not just on Rockstar, but also on other Take-Two subsidiaries like 2K Games (Mafia, NBA 2K) and mobile powerhouse Zynga. Expect the usual talk about sales numbers for games like GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and whatever else is performing well.

Still, the highlight for most fans tuning in will be any mention of GTA 6—even if it’s just a reassurance that development is on track.

Where Does GTA 6 Stand Now?

For those out of the loop: the Fall 2025 release window that was originally teased is now outdated. Earlier this year, Rockstar shared a statement on Twitter, confirming the new release date:

May 26, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The delay, Rockstar explained, is all about hitting the high bar they’ve set with past releases. In their words, they aim to “exceed your expectations”—and they’re taking the extra time to make sure GTA 6 does just that.

So yeah, don’t expect a brand-new trailer on August 7. But if you’re a GTA 6 fan who’s hungry for anything, it’s definitely a day to keep an ear out. Even a small update from Take-Two could give us a clearer picture of where things stand with one of the most anticipated games in history.
