Helldivers 2 is back with more firepower—and this time, it’s thanks to some seriously wild experimental tech.
Publisher Sony and developer Arrowhead Game Studios just dropped details on the Control Group Warbond, the latest DLC pack for the hit co-op shooter. It’s packed with new weapons, armor, gadgets, and cosmetics, all dropping on July 17.
Warbond packs are nothing new to Helldivers 2 fans, but this one’s got a fun twist: it’s themed around strange new science from Super Earth’s Ministry of Science Research and Development. The result? Experimental gear that’ll either make you a hero—or vaporize you trying.

The reveal comes hot on the heels of some big Helldivers 2 news: the game is officially launching on Xbox in August 2025.
That announcement has brought a wave of attention from both returning veterans and curious new players who had previously assumed the game was a PlayStation-only title.
While fans gear up for cross-platform reinforcements, Arrowhead is keeping everyone engaged with free updates and regular DLC drops like this one.
What’s in the Helldivers 2 Control Group Warbond?
Here’s what you can expect from the Control Group Warbond:
- AD-49 Apollonian Heavy Armor
- AD-26 Bleeding Edge Medium Armor
- Adreno-Defibrillator Passive – Revives wearer once after taking lethal damage
- VG-70 Variable – A seven-barreled primary weapon that can fire one at a time… or all at once
- PLAS-45 Epoch Stratagem – A plasma cannon with an overcharge mechanic, reminiscent of the classic Railgun
- LIFT-182 Warp Pack Stratagem – A teleportation backpack that lets you blink short distances, but becomes riskier with each jump
- A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry Stratagem – A sentry turret that fires a continuous laser beam and never needs to reload
- G-31 Arc Throwable – A new type of grenade
- Conductor of Brilliance & Over Artifice Triumphant – New banners and capes
- Protect Eardrums – A flashy new victory pose
- Exemplary Subject – A player title to show off your experimental flair

One of the most talked-about items is the LIFT-182 Warp Pack, which lets you instantly teleport short distances—a potential game-changer when things get hectic. The only catch? It gets unstable with each jump, and if it pushes its limits… well, it might just delete you.
Players are also hyped for the PLAS-45 Epoch, which features a satisfying overcharge mechanic that’s giving major Railgun nostalgia. The VG-70 Variable, on the other hand, brings raw power with its ridiculous seven-barrel setup.
Initial player reactions to the announcement have been mostly positive. Fans are excited about the new gear, especially the armor sets with passives that can revive you after taking lethal damage—though some are already raising eyebrows about how “balanced” that’ll be in action.
Either way, the Control Group Warbond looks like it’ll shake up how players take on missions in Helldivers 2. Whether you’re blasting bugs, bots, or just teleporting your way out of a bad situation, this DLC is shaping up to be one of the most exciting additions yet.
