Roblox is reportedly removing Star Codes entirely on or before October 24, as the platform shifts its focus to the upcoming Creator Rewards program.Â
The new program is expected to give Roblox creators more opportunities to earn from their creations and will replace both the current engagement-based payouts and Creator Affiliate programs.
Roblox remains one of the most popular games in the world, with millions of players and creators engaging every month.
Originally launched in 2006 for PC, Roblox gained traction over the years and saw a major surge after its Xbox One release in 2015.Â
That launch introduced a whole new wave of gamers to the platform’s endless library of user-created content.
In October 2023, Roblox also arrived on PlayStation, bringing the game to a massive new audience across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.Â
Most recently, in May, Roblox topped the charts by surpassing the combined active player count of Steam’s top 100 games, solidifying its place as a goldmine for top-tier creators.
According to Bloxy News on X, Roblox is phasing out the use of Star Codes by October 24, 2025. The decision comes as the Creator Rewards program will allow creators to earn directly from their published experiences.
Reactions from the Roblox Reddit community have been mixed. Many players admitted they had forgotten Star Codes were even a thing, with some recalling old YouTube promotions that have long since faded into obscurity.
Roblox will be ending the Star Code program.

While a lot of players don’t seem to mind the removal of Star Codes, others are a bit skeptical about Creator Rewards, especially since it doesn’t launch until July 24 and remains untested.
Star Codes, similar to Fortnite’s Creator Code system, let players support their favorite creators when buying Robux or Premium.Â
The creator would earn a 5% commission on each purchase, with no extra charge to the player. Creator Rewards is expected to offer a larger earning potential and include a broader group of eligible creators, according to Roblox.
There’s no cap on how much creators can earn through the new program. Still, there’s concern among some in the community—particularly because Creator Rewards will also be replacing the platform’s engagement-based payouts and Creator Affiliate programs, which could negatively affect certain creators.
Whether Creator Rewards becomes a solid replacement remains to be seen. But if nothing else, Roblox continues to thrive with a massive catalog of popular games.
Some even outperform full-fledged titles from major developers. A recent example is the farming simulator Grow a Garden, which hit an impressive 16 million concurrent players on the platform.
All eyes are now on Creator Rewards. Star Codes are on their way out—and the next chapter for Roblox creators begins this July.
