SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off has officially arrived on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5—and yep, it’s available to grab right now.Â
Originally a mobile game, this version has ditched microtransactions in favor of a more classic progression system, making it feel more like a proper console title.
Fans of SpongeBob will be happy to know this isn’t the only Bikini Bottom fun happening in 2025. A brand-new SpongeBob game from THQ Nordic is also slated to release later this year, but until that hits, Krusty Cook-Off is here to tide us over.

For those unfamiliar, Krusty Cook-Off is a fast-paced cooking game where players get to build, decorate, and run their very own kitchen in Bikini Bottom.
The goal? Cook up iconic meals from the show and serve them to a lineup of familiar faces, including Patrick, Squidward, and more. You can also unlock outfits and gear for characters—all through regular gameplay, no grinding or paywalls here.
The PlayStation version of the game sells for $14.99 and includes four exclusive power-ups. It’s a nice change of pace from the mobile version, which is still free but loaded with microtransactions. For those keeping track, the Nintendo Switch version (released quietly back in 2021) is also $14.99 and comes with its own unique power-ups—and it’s fully compatible with the Switch 2, too.
SpongeBob’s gaming comeback has been going strong since 2021’s Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated remake. Since then, he’s popped up in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Minecraft, Fall Guys, and got full-on adventures with The Cosmic Shake (2023) and The Patrick Star Game (2024).
So if you’re looking for something light-hearted, nostalgic, and just plain fun, SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off on PlayStation is a great way to pass the time while waiting for SpongeBob’s next big underwater adventure later in 2025.
